We were enamored by this 1959 Porsche 356 A Coupe at Art of the Car Concours in KC, MO, owned by Dennis Wellner of Kanas City.
Can you guess the color? Is it green? Nope, it’s called Stone Gray and was considered a special paint color offered by Porsche in the late ’50’s. Stone Gray resembles a khaki color with some green undertones that actually changes with the light. It has a slight chameleon quality that makes this 1959 Porsche 356 A Coupe even more authentic and intriguing.
Dennis actually took around 7 to 8 years to finish this car. A lot of time, hard work, and dedication and extra elbow grease went into restoring the 1959 Porsche 356 A Coupe to it’s present state. Dennis personally restored all the trim work on the car and installed it himself. The 356 A Coupe was professionally painted, he installed the interior, and the list goes on with everything he has completed. You have to see this vehicle in person to truly appreciate it’s full beauty and the hard work that has been dedicated to restoring it to it’s full glory.
