Early morning showers did very little to dampen the enthusiasm of the crowd attending the 4th annual 2015 Volks-Weston Car Show in historic downtown Weston, Missouri held by MO-Kan VW Club. By afternoon, the sun was shining and temperatures were back up which ended in a perfect day to walk around and enjoy vintage VW at it’s best.

The event included close to 70 vehicles, a charity raffle, judging of vehicles registered in the show, and a swap meet. All in all, it was definitely worth the drive only a mere 50 minutes from the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. A bonus was visitors were able to enjoy the downtown shopping, unique restaurants, state park, camping, and bike trails offered in this quaint historic town.

The streets were lined with tons of VW color from Bahama Blue, Ruby Red, Lotus White, Savannah Beige, Turquoise, Velvety Green, Light Grey, and  Black. A perfect color palette of vintage cars to fit in with the historic downtown vibe.

Among the vehicles displayed was the all-time favorite VW Beetle, VW Bus in all types, Dune Buggy, Baja Bug, a few Karmann Ghia’s, and newer VW street racers. This show was not just meant for the typical Volkswagen collector it attracted all ages and audiences alike with plenty of variety. Even the natural patina of years gone by showed beautifully on some vintage classics marking a never forgotten era.

All in all, the 2015 Volks-Weston was an enjoyable show and definitely worth the trip.
